Dear Norristown Residents;
On Saturday, September 29, 2012, the Norristown Fire Department in conjunction with the 200th Anniversary of the Municipality of Norristown will host the Pennsylvania State Firemen’s Convention and Parade. Numerous fire companies and bands, along with hundreds of spectators from across the State of Pennsylvania will attend this parade.
In order to accommodate the many participants of the parade, many streets in the west end of town will be closed to traffic and parking. At this time, it is estimated that the blocks involved will be:
- 500, 600, 700 and 800 Blocks of Selma, Hamilton and Buttonwood Streets
- Airy Street from Buttonwood Street to Forest Avenue
We know that this may be an inconvenience to many of you; however, it is our hope that with advanced notice that any major issues can be avoided. We will continue to remind you of planned events throughout the next few years. You can also check our website for additional information.

Estimados Residentes de Norristown;
El Sábado, 29 de Septiembre de 2012, el Departamento de Bomberos de Norristown, en relación con el 200° aniversario de la Municipalidad de Norristown acogerá el desfile y la Convención de Bomberos del Estado de Pennsylvania. Numerosas compañías de bomberos y bandas asistiran a este desfile asi como tambien cientos de residentes de todo el Estado de Pennsylvania.
Con el fin de acomodar a los participantes del desfile, varias calles en el extremo oeste de la ciudad estarán cerradas al tráfico y estacionamiento. En este momento se estima que los bloques involucrados seran:
- Bloques 500, 600, 700 y 800 de las calles a Selma, Hamilton y Buttonwood.
- Calle Airy desde la calle Buttonwood hasta la Avenida Forest.
Sabemos que esto puede ser un inconveniente para muchos de ustedes, sin embargo que con este previo aviso, usted pueda hacer los arreglos necesarios para ese dia. Le seguiremos recordando de los eventos programados durante los proximos anos. También puede consultar nuestra página web para información adicional.

Dear Norristown Merchants;
On Saturday, September 29, 2012, the Norristown Fire Department in conjunction with the 200th Anniversary of the Municipality of Norristown will host the Pennsylvania State Firemen’s Convention and Parade. Numerous fire companies and bands, along with hundreds of spectators from across the State of Pennsylvania will attend this parade.
The parade is expected to start at Marshall and Stanbridge Street at 1:00pm. It will proceed east on Marshall Street to Astor Street; south on Astor Street to Main Street; then east on Main Street to Dekalb Street.
We know that this may either be a good thing for your business, or possibly an inconvenience. It is our hope, however, that with advanced notice that you can prepare for the parade. We will continue to remind you of planned events throughout the next few years. You can also check our website for additional information.

El Sábado, 29 de Septiembre de 2012, el Departamento de Bomberos de Norristown, en relación con el 200 aniversario de la Municipalidad de Norristown, acogerá el desfile y la Convención de Bomberos del Estado de Pennsylvania. Numerosas compañías de bomberos y bandas asistiran a este desfile asi como tambien cientos de residentes de todo el Estado de Pennsylvania.
El desfile esta programado para comenzar en las calles Marshall y Stanbridge a la 1:00pm., con direccion Este en la calle Marshall hasta la calle Astor; dirigiendose al Sur en Astor hacia la calle Main; luego Este en la calle Main hasta la calle Dekalb.
Esto podria ser un beneficio o un inconveniente para su negocio, sin embargo esperamos que con este previo aviso, usted pueda hacer los arreglos necesarios y prepararse para ese dia.
